Overview
Tab Path: Utilities > CSV Import
CSV import is useful when outside systems, banks, or business tools provide data in plain text table format.
Because CSV files do not carry the richer structure of a workbook, users should check the file carefully before import.

How It Works
- CSV files work best when every row follows the same column order and the file is free from stray commas, broken quotes, and accidental header changes.
- The import tool should be treated as a controlled migration step rather than a quick fix for poor source data.
Recommended Workflow
- Open the CSV file in a review tool first and confirm the column structure is stable.
- Open CSV Import in QBM and choose the file.
- Review how the data lines up with the intended QBM fields.
- Run the import only after a small sample looks correct.
Best Practice
- Keep one consistent delimiter pattern throughout the file.
- Remove test rows and notes before importing.
- If the file came from another system, keep the source copy for audit and troubleshooting.
