Tab Path: Configurations > Utilities > Chart of Account Importer
The Chart of Accounts import tool helps implementations and restructures move faster when the account list already exists outside QBM.
Because the chart of accounts affects reporting, balances, and accounting structure, the import should be planned and reviewed carefully.

| Import account structure into QBM from a prepared source file. |
How It Works
- Users prepare the source chart outside QBM and then use the importer to bring that structure into the system.
- The imported result should be reviewed before live transaction entry begins or before a major restructure is accepted.
Recommended Workflow
- Prepare the source chart with consistent account codes, names, and hierarchy logic.
- Open the Chart of Account Importer and select the source file.
- Review the import structure carefully before final confirmation.
- After import, inspect the account list and key reports to confirm the structure is usable.
Best Practice
- Import the chart before large transaction volumes begin whenever possible.
- Review parent-child structure and account types after import.
- Do not assume the imported hierarchy is correct without checking it in QBM.
