Overview
Some QBM installations can read Emirates ID data through a connected reader. This helps users capture identity information more accurately where company procedures require it.
Use carefully: Emirates ID information is personal information. Users must follow company privacy policy and local legal requirements.
Select A Reader
When more than one reader is available, QBM can show a list of detected readers. Select the correct reader and click OK. If no reader appears, Windows or the reader driver may not detect the device.
Using The Card Reader
- Connect the approved card reader to the workstation.
- Open the QBM screen that supports Emirates ID reading.
- Insert or tap the Emirates ID card according to the reader type.
- Select the reader if QBM asks for one.
- Review the captured information before saving the record.
Privacy And Security
- Read Emirates ID information only when it is required for the business process.
- Do not share screenshots that show full identity details unless company policy allows it.
- Do not use another user's login to read or save identity information.
- Report incorrect or unexpected identity data to a supervisor before saving.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What To Check |
|---|---|
| No reader appears | Check USB connection, Windows device recognition, driver installation, and reader power. |
| Wrong reader selected | Open the reader list again and select the correct device. |
| Card cannot be read | Check card placement, reader condition, driver status, and whether another program is using the reader. |
| Data is incomplete | Retry the read and confirm the card is valid. If the issue continues, ask IT or support to check the reader setup. |
