How It Works

QBM stores group name, type, optional subgroup relationship, note, and inactive status so users can attach records to a controlled grouping structure.

Main Areas

Area What It Means When To Use It
Group type Defines which kind of records the group is for. Use it so the group appears only in the right business context.
Subgroup structure Lets one group sit under another group. Use it when you want a simple parent-child grouping model.
Inactive status Stops old groups being chosen for new work while keeping history. Use it when a group should no longer be used going forward.

Recommended Workflow

  1. Create the group with a clear name and the correct type.
  2. Set a parent group only when the business genuinely needs a hierarchy.
  3. Add a short note if the purpose of the group may not be obvious.
  4. Save the group, then use it consistently on the related records.
