Overview
The Find and Quick Search result screens help users jump to the right customer, vendor, invoice, item, or other record without browsing through menus.
Helpful note: This guide complements the Quick Search settings guide. One controls what can appear; the other helps users work with the search results they receive.

How to use the Find window and Quick Search results in QBM so users can locate records quickly and open the correct document with less effort.
How It Works
QBM accepts a search term, returns matching records, groups the results where relevant, and allows the user to open the chosen record directly from the result list.
Main Areas
| Area | What It Means | When To Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Search entry | The term or value the user is searching for. | Use it when looking for a record by name, code, number, or similar identifier. |
| Result list | Displays the matching records returned by QBM. | Use it to compare matches and select the correct one. |
| Open action | Opens the selected record directly from the result window. | Use it when you are ready to move from searching into the actual record. |
Recommended Workflow
- Enter a clear search term such as a customer name, document number, item code, or reference.
- Review the returned list carefully when more than one match appears.
- Use grouped results to narrow the search if many record types are shown.
- Open the selected record directly from the result window.
- Refine the search term and try again if the results are too broad.
Best Practice
- Use precise numbers or codes when available for faster results.
- Review the record type before opening when multiple modules can match the same term.
- Keep Quick Search settings aligned to the user role so results stay relevant.
