Inventory & POS Printing and Output End-User Guide

Overview

Print Preview helps users review the receipt appearance before committing to printing. It is useful when checking layout, page scaling, print quality, or whether the correct form is about to print.

Helpful note: Preview is especially helpful when templates, printer settings, or paper layout have been changed recently.

How to use POS print preview in QBM to review receipt output before printing and confirm the correct page, scale, and document appearance.

How It Works

QBM generates the printable document, opens it in the preview window, and lets the user move through pages, adjust the view, and send the document to print when satisfied.

Main Areas

Area What It Means When To Use It
Preview canvas Shows the printable document pages before printing. Use it to confirm that the output looks correct.
Navigation and zoom Lets the user move between pages and change magnification. Use it when checking long output or small details.
Print action Sends the previewed document to the selected printer. Use it after you have confirmed the output is correct.

Recommended Workflow

  1. Open print preview from the POS output or reprint process.
  2. Review the first page and confirm the customer, items, totals, and other key values are correct.
  3. Use the navigation controls if the output contains multiple pages.
  4. Adjust zoom if you need to inspect layout details more closely.
  5. Print only after the preview confirms the output is correct.

Best Practice

  • Use preview after template changes or printer setup changes.
  • Check totals and customer details before printing a replacement receipt.
  • Use preview to reduce wasted paper from avoidable print errors.
