Overview
Credit allocation should be deliberate, especially when multiple credits or document balances exist.
Where To Find It
Path: Partner credit allocation dialogs
Use the credit-allocation workflow when available credits should be applied against a document or balance.
How It Works
QBM provides a credit-allocation dialog that shows the relevant document context, available credit values, and how much the user intends to use.
Main Areas
| Area | What It Means | When To Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Document context | Shows the balance or invoice situation that the credit is being applied to. | Use it to confirm the credit is going to the correct target. |
| Available credits | Shows the credit values available for use. | Use it to decide what should be applied now and what should remain. |
| Amount to use | Captures the actual value being allocated. | Use it when applying only part of the credit or combining multiple sources. |
Recommended Workflow
- Open the credit-allocation dialog from the relevant transaction or balance context.
- Review the available credits and the target balance carefully.
- Enter or confirm the amount to use.
- Save the allocation and review the resulting balance afterward.
Best Practice
- Do not apply credit without checking the target document context.
- Use partial allocation carefully and document the reasoning if needed.
- Review credit balances again after the allocation is posted.
