Overview
Planet Tax Free integration is used when eligible customer transactions must be submitted to Planet for tax-free processing. QBM stores configuration by location so the correct terminal and merchant information can be used.
Availability: Use this guide only for companies that actively use Planet Tax Free. If the menu or options are not visible, the feature may not be enabled for the company.
Setup In Options
Open Options, then go to the integrations area and select the Planet Tax Free settings.

| Enable Planet Tax Free | Turns the integration on or off. |
| Location configuration | Maps each QBM location to the Planet credentials and terminal details used for that store. |
| Client ID / Client Secret | Credentials supplied for Planet access. These should be handled by authorized users only. |
| Terminal ID | Identifies the terminal or point of sale location used for Planet processing. |
| Merchandise Group ID | Identifies the merchandise group required by Planet. |
| URI addresses and rules | Advanced connection and validation values used by support or administrators. |
Processing Tax-Free Transactions
- Confirm the sale is eligible for tax-free processing according to company and country rules.
- Confirm the customer or shopper identity information is complete.
- Confirm the correct QBM location is selected on the transaction.
- Use the Planet Tax Free action only after the invoice or sales receipt details are correct.
- Review the returned Planet result and keep any required document or reference.
Cancellation
If a tax-free transaction must be cancelled, use the Planet cancellation workflow instead of simply deleting the QBM transaction. This keeps the external Planet status aligned with QBM.
Important: A refund, void, or cancellation in QBM may require a matching Planet cancellation. Follow company procedure and keep the reference number.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Check |

| Configuration not found for location | Add or correct the Planet configuration for that QBM location. |
| Connection rejected | Check URI, client ID, client secret, terminal ID, and internet access. |
| Transaction rejected | Review shopper identity, invoice values, tax values, item eligibility, and required fields. |
| Cancellation fails | Confirm the original Planet reference and whether the transaction is still allowed to be cancelled. |
