What Aging Means
Aging groups balances by how long they have remained unpaid. Businesses often review current balances separately from overdue balances such as 1 to 30 days, 31 to 60 days, 61 to 90 days, and older amounts.
Use summary first: Start with the summary report to identify which customers need attention, then open the detail report to see the supporting lines.
How To Use The Reports
- Run Receivables Aging Summary for the selected review date.
- Filter by customer, salesperson, or location if the collections review is assigned by team or branch.
- Move to Receivables Aging Detail when one customer or one overdue total needs explanation.
- Use the month-wise versions when management wants to see how aging changed over the year.
- Use graph view for presentations and list view for working review, export, or printing.
Best Practice
- Review aging regularly, not only at month-end.
- Use the same aging date when comparing departments or branches.
- Follow summary with detail before escalating a customer balance issue.
- Use month-wise aging when you want to confirm whether receivables are improving or getting older over time.
Important: Aging reflects the transactions and allocations currently recorded in QBM. Late payments, unallocated receipts, or missing credits will affect the result.
