Activate Modules Maintenance Guide

Use this guide when the Activate Modules command is available and you need to review module keys, module names, and active keys stored for the company.

What This Command Shows

Activate Modules opens a module activation screen that lists available module records from the company database. The grid shows the module key, module name, and active key.

The current screen is primarily a review screen for module activation information. If a module is missing, use Add Module first or contact QBM support.

Where To Find It

Menu path: Help > Maintenance > Activate Modules...

The screen title is Activate Module.

Why You May Not See It

This command can be hidden depending on the edition, configuration, activation state, or support mode. If it is not visible, it is not normally required for daily users.

Tell support if the command is hidden but they asked you to use it. They may provide a different activation process or ask for a module key.

Grid Columns

Column What It Means How To Use It
Module The stored module key value. Use it to identify which module record exists in the company database.
Name The readable module name returned by QBM rules. Use it to understand what the module is for.
Active Key The active key value associated with the module. Use it for support review when checking activation status.
OK Accepts and closes the screen. Click after reviewing the module list.
Cancel Closes the screen without continuing. Use when you opened the screen only for review.

How To Use It

  1. Open the command. Go to Help > Maintenance > Activate Modules...
  2. Review the grid. Check the Module, Name, and Active Key columns.
  3. Compare with support instructions. Confirm the expected module appears in the list.
  4. Click OK or Cancel. Close the screen after review.

After Reviewing Modules

  • If the expected module appears, test the related menu or workflow.
  • If the module does not appear, use Add Module with the module key supplied by QBM support.
  • If the module appears but users cannot access it, review security group permissions.
  • If the active key looks wrong, send the module name and active key to QBM support.
