Overview
QBM can show customer-facing information on a pole display or a larger extended display. This helps the customer follow the sale as it happens.
Where To Find It
Path: POS Options > Display
Use the Display tab in POS Options when configuring customer-facing messages, labels, communication values, and extended display behavior.
How It Works
The Display tab controls ports, baud rate, labels, idle messages, total wording, and extended display options such as welcome messages, thank-you messages, image rotation, and customer-facing labels.
Main Areas
| Area | What It Means | When To Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Pole display connection | Controls the communication settings used by a connected customer pole display. | Use it when the display device must talk directly to the POS workstation. |
| Display wording | Controls labels and idle messages shown to the customer during or between sales. | Use it when you want customer-facing wording to match your business language or branding. |
| Extended display behavior | Controls the second-screen experience such as images, refresh speed, and visible labels. | Use it when the POS station includes a larger customer-facing display. |
Recommended Workflow
- Open POS Options and go to the Display tab on the workstation being configured.
- Confirm the connection settings for the device that will be used.
- Set the labels and messages you want the customer to see.
- Turn on the extended display if the workstation supports it, then review the image and message settings.
- Run a test sale and confirm that the customer display behaves correctly.
Best Practice
- Keep customer-facing wording short and easy to read.
- Test display changes on the physical device rather than relying on assumptions.
- If different counters use different displays, configure each workstation locally.
